Who Does It Suck To Be?

Today it sucks to be Timothy Elliot. Timothy purchased a scratch ticket in the Massachusetts state lottery and won 1 million dollars. Huray! Oh, wait. Why does it suck to be Timothy if he just won 1 million dollars? Because he might be on his way to prison because he won. Confused yet?
Timothy is a [...]

New York? No Thanks.

I’m sure some of you think New York City and it’s suburbs are a great place to live. More power to you. I have no desire to live there. Growing up I always thought it would be a nice place to visit and one day I might. But I will never ever in this life [...]

My son showed an interest in magic while he was here last week. It gives me an idea for Christmas.
The rumor mill says there are plans for a magic shop to open here in Pensacola at the first of the year. I don’t know if there are enough magicians in the area to support a [...]

Ba Humbug

Let’s be honest here: Christmas and I just don’t get along. As I’ve said before I wouldn’t bother with the holiday except for the fact that my son and wife enjoy it.

Today is Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year. Do you plan to go out into the crowds in search of that one perfect gift? I’m not. Feel free to join me for Buy Nothing Day.
My son will be back for Christmas and I’m not [...]

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
Watch a parade, eat some bird (or tofu if you’re a vegetarian) and enjoy some family time.

Whoops!

Let’s flashback to Monday. My mother, son and I are heading back from Montgomery. My mother offers to buy the Thanksgiving turkey. With me so far? Good.
I’m not a turkey cooking man. It’s just something I’ve never done. All I know is that the fourth Thursday of each November I eat turkey and get drowsy. [...]
