I made it back home! I didn’t have to talk to the judge but there is a chance there will be one more hearing. I really hope there won’t be though. I had to spend two hours in the waiting area before the court clerk came looking for me. He took me to the collections office where I had to pony up some cash. He then said I was free to go. I had to wait two hours for that?? I wish he had simply told me that the first time he came out at 1pm when I was waiting with thirty other people. Ah well, at least Monday is over.
My mother was kind enough to provide a Thanksgiving turkey and some side dishes this year. I was ready to settle for Ramen Noodles.
My son is here with us until Sunday so my PC time will be limited. If I don’t update daily it doesn’t mean I’m dead. Right now I’m using my wife’s PC to write as my son has been holding his own little Guild Wars marathon.
Wrestling fan? How cool was it to see the return of Chris Jericho on RAW last night? The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla is back! How long will he be around? I don’t know but he’s always entertaining. Speaking of The Paragon of Virtue check out his book “A Lion’s Tale.” It’s a well written biography of Jericho from his days as a fan in grade school right up to the moment when he stepped through the curtain on RAW in 1999.
And while I’m talking about books. Go pick up a copy of “I Am Legend” by Richard Matheson before the latest movie adaptation hits the big screen. For a story written in the 50’s it has held up very well. The movie is going to deviate from the book but that was inevitable. It will be the third movie adaptation but the only one that remains true to the story. You can pick it up in a collection that contains some nice short fiction by Matheson. It’s a take on vampires that hasn’t been touched since it was written. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Coming in at just over 170 pages it’s also a quick read.
On a closing note let’s see what happened on history this day:
1985 – President Reagan and Soviet Union leader Gorbachev meet for the first time.
1990 – Milli Vanilli are stripped of their Grammy. Lip Synchers everywhere cry.
1998 – Impeachment hearings against President Clinton begin. What does “is”mean anyways?
Every year – November 19th is World Toilet Day! Grab a book and take a seat.
Enjoy your Holiday week with your son and wife. We will be thinking about you on Turkey Day. Ramen noodles sound appealing right now. We are heading to my sister’s. I am ready for the food fight to commence.
