The Florida State Board of Education has mandated that evolution be presented as theory. While there doesn’t seem to be a problem with the term at first glance we need to look closer.
What does the term Evolution mean? The change in the gene pool of a population from generation to generation by such processes as [...]

Open Mouth, Insert Foot

The nice thing about having a brain is you can think anything you want. The catch is that you have to know when to keep your thoughts in your head and when to let them flow out of your mouth. McCain seems to have a problem with that.
Somebody applying for the job as leader [...]
Another Reason To Hate Politics

Let me state up front that I support Obama for president. My views on the nomination process wouldn’t change no matter who had the lead. The race for the Democratic nomination is going to be close. I feel that the results won’t reflect the desires of the people though.
As of today (20-FEB-08) Obama has the [...]
Torture

A co-worker and I had an interesting discussion on torture the other day. Yes, it was a slow day at work.
Our main topic was waterboarding. My co-worker feels that waterboarding qualifies as torture because of the psychological impact it has while it is being done. I felt it isn’t torture as there is no physical [...]

There was a time in the past that I wanted to get one ear pierced but I never did it. Now my son has informed me that he wants to get his ears pierced. He can’t decide between studs and hoops though.
I’m not exactly thrilled about the concept but I understand he’s trying to become [...]

I’ve been pretty open about the fact that I do not support the war my country is involved in. I thought it was a bad idea since day one. I do support our troops though. The men and women that have enlisted did so because they believe (believed) it was the right thing to do. [...]

I received the following in an e-mail Thursday. I thought it was hilarious and felt like sharing it with the rest of you. Aren’t you glad I did it this way instead of by e-mail?
The Collard Greens
An old man lived alone in the country. He wanted to dig his yearly collard green garden, [...]

So the first trip to the doctor’s didn’t do the trick. This past weekend I was still sick and my throat/ears were still hurting. I went to see my primary care doctor this time instead of a doc-in-a-box. He prescribed a stronger antibiotic. Now I’m feeling better.
Sadly I missed 2 1/2 days of work this [...]

It’s time for Super Bowl XLII. My wife and son want to see the Patriots win. I’m not sure which team I want to see win. If the Patriots win it’s NFL history. If the Giants win then it’s history for Jerome Collins.
Who’s Jerome Collins? He’s a player for the Giants. More specifically he’s a [...]
