There was a time in the past that I wanted to get one ear pierced but I never did it. Now my son has informed me that he wants to get his ears pierced. He can’t decide between studs and hoops though.
I’m not exactly thrilled about the concept but I understand he’s trying to become his own man. His mother is okay with the idea so I’ve given him the go ahead to get it done. Sometime within the next couple of weeks I’ll take him to a piercing studio to have the work done.
Why a piercing studio and not Sprawl-Mart? Because I did some research. Most places use a piercing gun to punch the hole and this isn’t a good thing. You can’t sterilize a piercing gun. Because of the way they are made you can only use a sanitizing wipe on them and that is not enough to remove the possibility cross contamination. At a studio you can see all of the equipment be sterilized using the autoclave. Better safe than sorry.
